President William Ruto has pointed out that young leaders have the power to influence the present.
He said so powerful, brilliant and focused are the youth that they are also “our future”.
He spoke on Thursday night in Nairobi during the launch of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association Strategic Plan.
“We are committed to mentoring Kenya’s young leadership to enhance their active participation in governance,” he explained.
The President urged young leaders to embrace participatory leadership and enhance their legislation, representation and oversight roles.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Chairman of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association Gitonga Mukunji, among other leaders, were present.
